If you’ve ever asked Claude to build a marketing dashboard, you know the frustrating part: the result looks great, but it’s a snapshot. The numbers were true the moment it was built, and stale the moment after. Sharing it means sending someone a frozen HTML file. Supermetrics Studio — launched in July 2026, and still labeled beta as we write this — exists to fix exactly that: dashboards you build in a Claude chat become hosted pages that re-run their query against your real marketing data every time someone opens them.
We tested it the day we learned about it, with real data from our own Meta Ads campaign. This is what we did, step by step, what actually happened, and where the limits are.
Updated 21 August 2026. We re-checked every claim in this article against a live paid account before the subscription lapsed. The dashboard below still renders the same figures, verified today. Two statements about pricing were wrong and have been corrected — see What It Actually Costs, which is now the most important section on this page.
What Is Supermetrics Studio?
Supermetrics is a marketing data platform that connects ad and analytics accounts (Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, TikTok and many more) to wherever you work — including Claude, through its official connector in the Claude connector directory. Studio is its reporting destination: instead of your AI-built dashboard living and dying inside a chat, you tell Claude to upload it to Studio, and Supermetrics hosts it as a page that re-runs its query on every view, with versioning and sharing permissions layered on top.
The thing to understand before anything else is that Studio and the Claude chat connection are two separate products on your bill. We originally wrote that Studio “ships as part of the AI Chats subscription.” That was wrong, and we’ve replaced it with what we measured — see below.
It is also still in beta. The beta badge sat next to the Studio logo when we first tested this in July, and it was still there when we reopened the same board on 21 August 2026, five weeks later. That is worth knowing before you move client reporting onto it.
The Test: A Real Dashboard From Our Real Campaign
Our test case: the Meta Ads campaign we ran in early July to boost an Instagram post (our ChatGPT vs Claude comparison). Real account, real spend, real numbers.
The entire flow happened inside one Claude conversation:
- We asked Claude to pull the campaign data through the Supermetrics connector — daily impressions, reach, link clicks and spend for the campaign window.
- Claude built the dashboard: six KPI cards (spend, impressions, link clicks, CPC, CTR, frequency) and two daily charts. We reviewed a static preview first and approved it.
- Claude uploaded it to Studio — no export, no copy-paste, no code editor. The response came back with a URL.
- We opened the link: a loading spinner while it queried Supermetrics, then the full dashboard with our real totals — €35.61 spent, 3,365 impressions, 292 link clicks, €0.12 average CPC.
Those four figures were still exactly the same when we reopened the board on 21 August 2026, thirty-six days later.

Total time from “let’s test this” to a working dashboard: under fifteen minutes, most of which was us double-checking the numbers.
What It Actually Costs
This section replaces two claims we got wrong. The original version of this article said Studio “ships as part of the AI Chats subscription” and that “there’s no separate Studio fee.” Both are false, and the second one is the kind of false that costs a reader money.
Supermetrics bills each destination separately. A destination is where your data is allowed to come out: the AI chat, Studio, the API, a warehouse. On the Starter plan we were paying for, the price covered one destination. Adding a second one is not a swap and not an upgrade tier — it’s a line item.
Here is what the subscription configurator showed on our own account on 20 August 2026, confirmed the same day against the public pricing page:
- Starter plan: €49/month before VAT, one destination included.
- Each additional destination: +€62/month when billed monthly. If you pay annually the same row reads €49/month — and the page does not label which billing mode a given price belongs to, which is how we misread it ourselves the first time.
- Running the chat and Studio together therefore costs €49 + €62 = €111/month before VAT, on monthly billing. We have not found a page on the vendor’s site that puts those two numbers next to each other.
One practical warning for readers outside Europe: the pricing page is silently geolocalized. We saw euros from an Italian connection; a US visitor is served dollars, with no visible currency switch. Compare like for like before you budget.
Why this matters for the workflow above
Look again at the four steps of our test. Step 1 — asking Claude to pull the campaign data — runs through the AI chats destination. Step 3 — uploading the result — runs through the Studio destination. The procedure this article teaches spans two separately billed destinations, and one included slot cannot cover both.
We can state that as tested rather than reasoned, because our own account ended up in exactly that split. With Studio licensed and AI chats not, on 14 August and again on 21 August, the same connector in the same session did both of these things minutes apart:
- A data query into the chat was refused, with an error saying the AI chats destination is not included in the subscription.
- A dashboard upload succeeded, and the hosted board came back serving live figures from the same platform.
So Studio genuinely works without the chat destination — you just can’t build anything new in Claude to put in it. If you want the workflow in this article end to end, you are buying two things. We laid the full bill next to a cheaper alternative in our Windsor.ai vs Supermetrics comparison.
One last thing worth knowing before you commit: when we cancelled, the confirmation screen warned that saved reports and configurations may be lost. Whatever you build here is tied to an active subscription.
What Makes It Different From a Regular Claude Dashboard
- The query re-runs — the page doesn’t go stale. Every time the page loads it hits your connected accounts again, instead of serving numbers frozen at build time. What that buys you depends on the date range you asked for. A rolling window — “the last 30 days” — genuinely moves with time. A fixed window, like the finished campaign above, returns the same rows on every view, which for a closed campaign is exactly right. Either way the difference from a static artifact holds: a Claude artifact can never update, a Studio page updates as far as its query allows.
- Dashboards start private, and they mean it. Boards are private by default and sharing is switched on per board. We can confirm the private half more literally than we intended: on 1 August we opened our own dashboard URL in a browser signed in to a second Supermetrics identity — same person, different account and team — and got a flat Access denied. The permission model works. It is also the trap: which account your browser happens to be signed into decides what you see, and the error doesn’t tell you that.
- Public link sharing has not shipped yet. This is the part we could not test in July, and now we know why. Opening the sharing dialog on 14 August 2026 shows three options under general access: restricted, your own team, and “anyone with the link” — the third one carrying a padlock and a coming soon label. It isn’t friction, and it isn’t a permissions setting you’ve configured wrong. The public link does not exist yet. Today you share by naming people one at a time, or by opening the board to your team.
- It’s editable after publishing. Studio keeps versions; you (or Claude, in a later chat) can update the dashboard without breaking the link you already shared. Worth knowing: after we edited the page through the connector, our browser kept rendering the previous version until a forced reload. The version number moves immediately; what you’re looking at may not.
The Honest Limits
- It’s still beta. Our test went smoothly, and the board has survived five weeks unattended — but the beta badge was still on screen on 21 August 2026. Don’t move mission-critical client reporting onto it yet.
- It’s Supermetrics data. Studio visualizes what Supermetrics connects to. It’s a big list of marketing sources, but if your data lives elsewhere, this isn’t your tool.
- It’s a paid destination, and so is the chat. See What It Actually Costs. Budget for both if you want the full workflow.
- First load takes a few seconds. Live queries mean a visible loading state on every view. Fine for reports; just don’t expect instant static-page speed.
Who This Is Actually For
The clearest fit is anyone who reports marketing numbers to someone else on a schedule: freelancers sending weekly client updates, small agencies juggling five ad accounts, in-house marketers reporting to a founder. The old workflow was export → spreadsheet → screenshot → email. The new one is: describe the dashboard once to Claude, share one link, and the link keeps querying.
With one caveat we’d repeat to anyone at that scale: at €111/month before VAT for the full loop, this is priced for people whose reporting time is worth more than that. A solo creator sending one client report a month should look hard at the cheaper end of the market first.
It’s also a preview of a bigger shift we keep writing about — AI chat as the place where marketing work actually happens, with tools like this handling the last mile. The same connector we used here is the one we covered in our broader stack: see how we connected Instagram data to Claude with a similar bridge approach.
FAQ
Do I need to know how to code?
No. We described what we wanted in plain English; Claude wrote and uploaded everything. The only technical step is having the Supermetrics connector enabled in Claude.
Is Supermetrics Studio free?
No, and it isn’t bundled with the chat connection either — we originally wrote that it was, and we were wrong. Studio is a billable destination. On the Starter plan (€49/month before VAT, as configured on our account in August 2026) one destination is included; a second one costs €62/month more on monthly billing. Running Claude chat queries and Studio together came to €111/month before VAT. Prices are shown in your local currency without a visible switch, so check what your own region is quoted.
Can other people see my ad account when I share a dashboard?
Per Supermetrics’ documentation, viewers see the dashboard rather than your account: queries run through your authorized connection with the permissions you set. We verified the private default on our own board — it locked us out when we arrived from the wrong account. Note that as of 14 August 2026 there is no public link to share at all: that option exists in the dialog but is disabled and marked coming soon, so sharing means adding named people or your team.
Does the dashboard show today’s numbers?
It shows whatever its query asks for, refreshed at the moment you open it. Ask Claude for a rolling range and the page moves with time; ask for specific dates — as we did for a campaign that had already ended — and it returns those dates every time. Decide which one you want before you share the link.
